here are some of the pics that finally came out right from deedee! deedee is my lomographic cam, a diana+, hence the name "deedee." these were taken during my month-long stay in boracay for my practicum (though it didn't feel like i was there that long at allll) hehehe ... i admit that they're far from perfect but i'll definitely work on getting them right. i'm just glad i got any decent pics at all! hahaha! if you really want to see more, just visit my site in multiply. ;P

here are some pics from my stay in bora ... call the 1st one my beach postcard pic. hehehe ... and the 2nd one my classic beach dusk shot. if you've seen another post in my blog, you'll know why i said it was a classic. ;P also, couldn't resist getting a picture of manong and his boat. read somewhere that its best to ask permission before taking a picture, have the man be doing his job in the picture and also show the pic to him (para matuwa naman si manong siguro) and so i did all 3, but not necessarily in that order. hahaha!

had my cam out during class the other day and saw my classmate from across the stairwell. i thought he was just goofing around but when i showed him my cam and made the universal motion that i was gonna take his pic, he actually started posing! hahaha! so i did take the shot and also played with it a little on photoshop. can you spot the difference? and yes, you can see the glare of my little canon cam ... was behind glass when i took the shot. thankfully, there's less of it on the 2nd edited pic. it just looks like something is framing him. ;P gotta work on my photoshop skills.

one group in our class made these last week ... gateaux st. honore. doesn't it look scrumptious? liked the way the caramel started oozing from the middle of the choux pastry in that one little part. let me tell you, the cream in the middle was soooo light. yuuuuuummmmy! ;P

this is something i made recently ... and it turned out really nice! the first time i made it i wasn't able to put the apple slices correctly in a circle so it looked really bad. but when i got it right i made sure i took a picture, as you can probably see. hahaha!

i had been planning to post this picture for some time now ... this was the best bread i'd ever done ... so far of course. hehehe ... this happened when i bought instant yeast. it turns out the yeast i'd been using was dead already. was soooo happy when it came out so right. ;P

haven't really been taking a lot of the usual pics lately ... more of food shots for school, as part of the curriculum requirement. well, these series of shots were a surprise! it's a step-by-step picture of making pie dough. was compiling the pics to attach to my recipe manual, then i saw how they all looked together! it turned out really nice. at one point, just stared at it for some time actually, hehehe ... what do you think? maybe i have future in food photography? ;P

the Philippines recently hosted the 11th Hot Air Balloon Festival where for 3-4 days of hot air balloon and other air related activities were held at Clark Air Base, Pampanga. i had heard of it last year but hadn't been able to go ... but this year i was determined to go and i did!

the hot air balloons were scheduled to start set up at 530am and a friend told me that it'd be a good idea to get there early to get pics of the balloons being inflated (thanks jun!). we did get there really early, around 5am and may pila na! we got good seats at the audience area and here are the pics! special thanks din to bobbee for lending me his tripod! hehehe ... ;P

here are some images from the last day of the pyrolympics. as you can see, took the shots from a different part of the mall. on the last day there were hordes of people and therefore, various vehicles. we couldn't park anymore where we had for the past few days so we had to make do. we ended up parking in front of the mall, as can be evidenced by the photos. these were taken during the presentation of China, but we didn't stay for the Philippine exhibition. later we found out that the exhibition started about 2 hours after China's had ended.

on the way back home, we took the EDSA route and the traffic was horrendous southbound - from Ortigas to the end of EDSA (which was the last turn before the Mall of Asia). some cars had already overheated and if you were stuck on the innermost lanes, you couldn't even try to change routes.

chose to post this coz of the incredible formations or shapes that the makers of these fireworks were able to produce! during the presentations of the various countries i was surprised by the variety of shapes that came out ... hearts, flowers, rings, etc. this was also from the US presentation.

its been aaaaaaaages since i last posted a picture and i do apologize ... these are the newest ones. ;P

went to the 2nd world pyro olympics with the family. was able to go to 4 of the 5 days. will post pics from the event. the picture above was taken on the 1st day, during the defending champ Australia's presentation. UK won this year tho ... and the real bummer was that they had presented on the day that we weren't able to go! grrrr ... (actually it was my fault coz i was really tired then from being up late the past 2 nights of the pyro olympics *sheepish grin*)

what i liked about this picture was that it's something that i was able to take while at the shop and it wasn't just some people passing by ... like when i tried to make a collage of people and their umbrellas ("rolleyes", hehehe ...) its part of local color. one of the mechanics got his shoes wet during this typhoon and so he was trying to dry them outside, even though it was still overcast.

we were in the province over the weekend and spent a few hours at my uncle's "beach house" ... that's him sitting on an old inner tube relaxing and enjoying the sea. it was kind of funny actually, he's this really tall guy sitting on a small inner tube that he could barely fit his butt into, buti na lang slender si tito. ;P

was walking around san francisco when mom and i saw this sign at yerba buena gardens. how can i not take a picture eh in tagalog yung isang part ng sign, yun nga lang - wrong grammar. hahaha! it should be, "babala: bawal ang pumasok dito." is this a sign (play on words yan ha) that there are soooo many pinoys in SF? there's even this joke that the reason why there's so much fog in daly city (also in/near SF) is that there are so many pinoys cooking rice! hahaha!
